We aim to dispatch all items within 3 working days using a National courier for our large items and Royal Mail 2nd Class for smaller items. During busy periods please allow a little longer as we are a small team.
For couriered items you will receive an email the day of dispatch to advise of the delivery date. Usually the couriers will then email you on the day with a time slot and tracking information. We encourage the use of a leave safe instruction where possible i.e ‘leave with neighbour or in porch if out’.

The Clothesmaid is our original ceiling-mounted pulley clothes airer, made in our Staffordshire workshop using solid cast iron rack ends and pulleys, best quality Grade 1 sustainably sourced pine slats and English rope.
Designed in the traditional Victorian way, it raises and lowers easily using a cotton sash cord and wall cleat, letting you make use of the warmest air in the room — right up near the ceiling.
Unlike a tumble dryer, The Clothesmaid uses no electricity, produces no heat damage to your clothes, and lasts a lifetime. It’s a genuinely ecological alternative that pays for itself many times over.
The wooden slats are finished to a high standard and are untreated to prevent any staining or discolouration of clothing.
The rack ends which are 38cm wide and 16cm high come in a choice of black or old English white with matching cast iron, ceiling mounted pulleys and cleat hook.
Our Clothesmaid airer comes with a 10m high quality, cotton sash cord as standard but you can upgrade to 15m if needed.
The Clothesmaid can also be wall fitted when ceiling fitting is not an option using our special Wall Brackets (see tab above). You simply order the brackets with the airer and leave the rest to us.
Rack ends are solid cast iron, and the pulleys are cast iron with highly durable cast metal wheels – (we also sell spares & accessories for all our hanging clothes airers). This Victorian clothes airer looks equally at home in contemporary and period properties due to its iconic design.
